What do you like most about being a student-athlete at MSA?

I like the training roads and teammates the most. Having other people who are also very invested in cycling is a big motivator. I also like how accommodating teachers are if I ever need to miss some school for a race. They help me stay on top of my work while I balance a busy racing and training schedule.

What is your favorite class at MSA and what do you like about it?

My favorite classes at Miller are anything history-related. I have always been interested in learning about history and tend to do the best in those classes.

What is your favorite race of the year and why?

My favorite race with Miller are the Greenville training races the team does every year. While the races are fun, travelling with your teammates makes for some great memories. My favorite race I have ever done though is La Ronde des Valles in Brittany, France. It’s punchy parcourse suited me very well and it was exciting to do well against tough, international competition.

What is your favorite training ride/route and why?

My favorite training loop is the “Classics Loop” at Miller. This hilly route was the first route I ever remember doing at Miller and is therefore very special to me. The roads are scenic and I never get bored of the punchy climbs, going up Afton mountain, and tackling the twisty descent after it. This route is great for just riding or doing a structured workout.

What are your pre-race rituals/routines?

I always make sure to elevate my legs on a wall for fifteen minuted before I go to bed the night before, eat a lot of rice, pancakes, or oatmeal the morning of, and make sure my bike, shoes, and helmet are clean.

List 3 songs on your pre-race playlist:

  • F.N - Lil Tjay

  • Sanguine Paradise - Lil Uzi Vert

  • For Whom the Bell Tolls - Metallica

Any other interesting things about you that you’d like to share?

I have two dogs named Teddy and Maizie.
