What do you like most about being a student-athlete at MSA?

I like being a student-athlete at MSA because of the support I get from my teachers when I’m really tired from a race or a big block of training. My teachers have also been helpful and supportive when I miss school for races.

What is your favorite class at MSA and what do you like about it?

My favorite class at MSA was Design / Build which was a really fun class. We got to learn to use all the machines and how to work with wood. It was nice to do a class that was different from traditional ones, one that is more hands-on and creative.

What is your favorite race of the year and why?

My favorite race of the year varies from year to year, depending on how I do in that race and what the conditions were like. So far, my favorite race this year was the last race in Fayetteville, Arkansas. It was really muddy, a good course, and it was raining, which made it really fun to race.

What is your favorite training ride/route and why?

My favorite training ride is riding from my house to some local trails at O-Hill and then heading over to Ragged Mountain. It’s a really fun route with climbs, tech, and fast descents. It’s also 20+ miles of trails close to my house where you’re in really pretty woods.

What are your pre-race rituals/routines?

My pre-race routines include eating a large breakfast usually of granola or protein pancakes with yogurt. A couple of hours before my race I will listen to a certain playlist and previsualize and focus my mind. Right before my race, I have a different playlist that I will listen to while I warm up.

List 3 songs on your pre-race playlist:

Teeth by: 5 Seconds of Summer

Best Friend (feat. Doja Cat) by: Saweetie, Doja Cat

OHFR? By: Rico Nasty
